“ Get your head out of the clouds!” My father yelled at me. My name is Rebecca Samuels. I am nineteen years old with grey hair and blood red eyes. I sat at my desk drawing a cartoon character I seemed to admire.
“Stop drawing that stupid cartoon and get a job!” I looked up to see my drunk dad standing at my desk. He took the paper but my hand grasped his hand before he do anything else. He howled in pain as my grip got tighter. He soon let the paper go and ran out of my room. I am a threat to all man kind and nothing will change it. The alarm rang noon. It was time to get the food from the market outside near the village I live in. I quietly walked down the stairs. Making sure not to wake my father. Then slammed the door shut. Even that didn’t wake him? Heavy sleeper when he’s drunk. As I walked down to the market, the kids laughed.
“Hey look! It’s daydreamer!” One kid screamed. I looked to see my ex boyfriend, Jason.
“Leave me alone Jason. Not in the mood to fight you today!” I replied as I kept walking.
“How’s your drawing career? Still drawing that boy from the pirate show?” This time. I was really fuming. So mad that I took my knife and held it to his neck.
“I told you I am not in the mood to hear your voice today!” He quivered in his spot. “ You’re useless trash anyway.” I continued to walk and as I did I could hear him scream,
“Get your head in reality! You spend to much time in the clouds!” I hate to admit it, but he’s right. I do have my head in the clouds. That’s why I am failing school right? Maybe. It is time to get my head out of the clouds, and get my butt into reality.
